Hover or tap on a body part to view common conditions helped for that region

While the body is made up of multiple moving parts, they do not function independently of each other. While the “what” that brought you here is important, the “why” is what we will work hard to find so that targeted treatment can be directed to the source of your dysfunction, even if that source is traditionally considered to be unrelated.

Here at Revive and Thrive, diagnoses are never viewed as isolated incidents. Much of the time, getting to the root of a problem is looking beyond the immediate history and instead locating previous, perhaps even long-forgotten-about injured areas that are now a part of the bigger picture. Over time, the body learns how to adapt and compensate, or work around, areas that are functioning in a less than optimal state. This works for awhile until wear and tear, not to mention inflammation, all take their toll.

At Revive and Thrive, pain is not the only focus! There are a number of neurological conditions that are not necessarily painful but can be equally debilitating.

  • Cerebral Vascular Accident (CVA, aka Stroke)
  • Spinal Cord Injury (SCI)
  • Spina Bifida
  • Cerebral Palsy (CP)
  • Muscular Dystrophy (MD)
  • Guillian-Barre Syndrome (GBS)
  • Myasthenia Gravis
  • Parkinson’s Disease (PD)
  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
  • Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
  • Vestibular dysfunction

There are also painful neurogenic type conditions that we treat here:

  • Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS, previously known as RSD, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy)
  • Peripheral Neuropathic Syndromes of the upper or lower extremities

When you come to Revive and Thrive, you are viewed as an individual with multiple systems; never to be put into a box as either an “orthopedic” patient or a “neurological” patient. We believe all traditionally orthopedic patients have neurological components that must be addressed, and that all traditionally neurological patients have orthopedic components that must be addressed. Here we look at the whole person as having multi-system interactions. We don’t stop at the musculoskeletal and neurological systems, but look further at how these systems interact with your digestive system and airway as well.

Come see what can be done for you using an approach that recognizes the interaction of multiple body systems! You owe it to yourself to dig a little deeper to get to the root of your problem. If you feel stuck inside the ever revolving door of the traditional medical model where you may have been provided some temporary relief, yet you find your pain is returning again and again, it’s time to try a different approach.

Movement System Optimization

Head to toe assessment and treatment designed to identify areas that may be limiting overall system performance in athletic endeavors, recreational hobbies, as well as general health and fitness activities. Optimization of the movement system is achieved through addressing the mechanical capacity of the system as a whole, training efficient neuromuscular function, and development of appropriate motor control specific to the individual’s needs. Lack of efficiency in any one or more of these areas can impair one’s ability to access their core. Ultimately, this lack of core control limits how easily any given activity can be performed. Ideal choice for the weekend warrior, fitness enthusiast, or the average person trying to stay healthy by keeping their movement system going at its optimal potential.

Fitness Optimization

Need a gym routine re-vamp? Not sure if your favorite exercise or gym routine is causing more problems than it’s helping? Exercise performed with incorrect strategies can cause more harm than good. Screening looks at what you’re already doing and how you’re moving within your current system to then provide appropriate interventions to correct improper motor strategies to get you back on track with your fitness goals. This wellness focus can also provide you with an exercise plan if you are looking for direction in how to start your fitness journey with reduced risk for injury.

Competitive Edge

Created for competitive athletes of all ages, however, this does not take the place of sport specific coaching. Interventions address any mechanical, neuromuscular, and motor control limitations that may be keeping an individual from performing at their full athletic potential in any sport. Interventions are tailored to fit an individual’s sport specific needs, whether the desired result is increased speed, strength, endurance, or power.

Gait Optimization

For those who have noticed that they either walk or run with a bit of a limp but lack the pain or functional limitations that would justify physical therapy intervention.  Goals focus on identifying and treating any mechanical, neuromuscular, and/or motor control deficits which may be residual from an otherwise resolved previous injury, or simply a faulty learned gait pattern associated with other factors. Advanced goals for the runner focus on moving the stride to the most efficient state possible to enhance athletic outcomes.

Performance Optimization

We’re not just here for the athletes. If you are in the performing arts and you want to optimize your vocal abilities through taking a serious look at your pressure systems and postural alignment, we’re here for you. If you play a musical instrument and are concerned about the number of hours you spend practicing in the same position, we’re here to help you too!

Preventative Care

Individualized risk assessment for injury looks at habitual postures and movements associated with work, home, and play to identify areas of tissue vulnerability and stress. Information gathered during the evaluation is then used to create a preventative action plan geared toward the individual’s specific circumstances. This includes a progression through body mechanics training as the body is brought into a more efficient state to prevent injury or re-injury, taking specific occupational needs into consideration.

Posture Improvement Plan

With special consideration of the airway, this plan identifies and treats mechanical, neuromuscular, and motor control impairments that may be forcing a person to assume poor posture. As mechanical restrictions are cleared, emphasis is shifted to progressively training the system away from the old habit pattern to a new, more efficient alignment using specific neuromuscular facilitation and motor control training techniques.

Airway Optimization

Do you habitually snore or grind your teeth when you sleep? Do you ever find yourself breathing through the mouth even during waking hours? These behaviors are not considered normal or healthy and can be signs of an obstructed airway which can have a dramatic negative impact on sleep quality and overall health. Anytime you are breathing through the mouth, you are not benefitting from the health boosting benefits of Nitric Oxide (NO) that your own body creates by breathing through the nose. Come see what airway optimization can do for improving your quality of sleep and overall health.

Falls Prevention Focus

Specifically for those who are fearful of falling but have not yet sustained any falls, or have completed physical therapy already for falls but desire to take a literal step further in prevention. This focus assesses for specific areas that may be limiting one’s options for movement necessary for normal righting reactions to occur. Being able to provide the system with greater options for movement is the key to a greater level of safety.

Digestive System Optimization

This focus is made for those with digestive issues related to poor mobility of the digestive tract. Frequent constipation troubles may not be purely diet related, and can likely benefit from specific mobilization of the organs and structures of the digestive system.

Support for the Extra Sensitive

For the person who may have been labeled as a hypochondriac by friends and family. Not to worry, no stereotypical judgment here. Some people are just more body aware or sensitive than others. Perfect intervention for those with random aches, pains, and questions who lack the functional limitations needed for justification of medically necessary physical therapy services, but still want an opportunity to feel better!

Help for the Common Klutz

Again no judgment, just providing specific help for those who have trouble with body awareness and want to get through life with less difficulty and more grace. Goals focus on locating potential underlying mechanical, neuromuscular, and motor control dysfunctions as well as possible gaps in developmental motor learning which may be causing one to struggle.
